Two Coalville Town Bowls Club members, Jim Wedge & Nigel Hammersley played in qualifiers at Charnwood Indoor Bowls Club & were successful in being picked to represent The Midlands Team at The Civil Service National Indoor Bowls Championship played in York at the end of April.

Teams from across the UK played in singles, pairs & triples round robin leagues over 2 days on the 28th & 29th of April.

The standard was high with England & Welsh international players present & the world indoor ranked 18 playing in the singles.

Trophies & Cups were awarded for singles, pairs, triples & overall top region.

Wales came out as overall Champion region.

The Midlands were overall runners up, a tremendous acheivement amid such high ranking opposition.
