Tuesday 9th September 2025 saw the end of season celebration of the Coalville & District Over 60's league with a competitive Gala.

14 Teams from across the district competed all day, each Team playing five 6 end matches.

Everyone was blessed by a stunning day, bright sunshine & fluffy white clouds passing gently on the breeze, it was really warm.

Coalville entered 2 Teams for the event, Coalville A & Coalville B. Due to the excellent response from clubs a preliminary day was necessary,

unfortunately our Coalville B Team lost 17 - 11 to Market Bosworth B Team.

The format was: 2 points for a match win, 1 point for a drawn match & nil pointsd for a defeat. Each end won earned a furthur point, should there be a

tie on points, shot difference would come into play.

To cut a long story short the event went right down to the wire.

Winners on 42 points were Battram

Then 4 teams were tied on 40 points so it went down to shot difference(The Tension Was Palpable)

Runners Up were New Lount

3rd place Coalville Town A

A grand day was had by all, close but no cigar for our Team of Kev Starkey, Nigel Hammersley & Dave Butler.
